Kissimmee 2023 - Increased Hammer Total

Kissimmee #49 provided excellent consignments of specialist heavy construction machinery, increased bidder number, good crowds and the best final hammer total for 10 years.

Yoder & Frey, the architects and founders of the now World famous Kissimmee Winter Auction for heavy construction and agricultural equipment, report the 49th consecutive Kissimmee sale smashed all records.

Since 1974, when Yoder & Frey held the very first auction at Kissimmee, this iconic yearly event continues to attract buyers and sellers from not just across the USA, but from a truly global audience. After the effects of Covid, Yoder & Frey welcomed the crowds as they returned not only to bid and buy, but to see old friends, make new acquaintances and experience the biggest sale week on the planet.

Running from the 16th to 18th February the statistics for this 49th sale was breaking records before the auction commenced! There were significantly more rolling stock lots than previous sales. Registrations were higher than previously recorded. New buyers registering were double that of previous years. The hammer was 75% up on the result for 2022. Online bidding was strong and from a truly international audience. And, whilst the crowds returned in droves, adding a solid feeling of confidence to the marketplace, with pre-Covid numbers attending live, bidding on the day and prices achieved exceeded expectations.

This was a solid $32.3 million sale for Yoder & Frey. Whilst vendors from 11 countries participated in the sale, over 100 vendors from the US entered lots into the auction. However, it was it was the home consignors and buyers that made the sale their own. Bucking the trend for online bidding being the most popular way to participate in the sale, 4700 lots were up for sale with 75% of all successful bids came from the floor, with the remainder being online, which was reflected in the crowds attending to ‘kick-the-tires’ and buy. Buyers from the US were responsible for 86% of all successful bids , with buyers from the central and east coast , however such was global interest, visitors to the US, Canada, South Africa, Europe, Russia, Asia, the Far East and Australasia.
